John Atte Wode and Isabella de Mules

HUSBAND:
John Atte Wode. [Familytree].
Born (about 1400)(on 4 April 1400-S2) in Sanderstead, Surrey, England; son of Peter Atte Wode and Petronilla. (S1).

He married Isabella. (S1).

In 1434 John Atte Wode and wife Isabella leased Coulsdon Manor for 20 years as a suitable headquarters for his wide holdings mearby. During this 20 years he built the first Sanderstead Court, though Peter had built the church there about 1380. The church was rebuilt in 1830, and under the floor were many bones of former owners, which were reburied and covered with cement. (S1).

John was Knight of the Shire in 1459, which meant he was called to Parliament. This was the Parliament which deposed King Henry VI. (S1).

He died after 1459 in England. (S1).
