BASANUS MAGNUS, King of Sicamber

BASANUS MAGNUS, King of Sicamber.
Son of Diocles, King of Sicamber, who died in 299 B.C..

Basanus married the daughter of Orcades, king of Norway. However, it should be noted that during Basanus's lifetime, about 300BC to 241BC, there was no country or kingdom of Norway. According to the legend of the founding of Norway (Fundin Noregre - introduction to the Orkneyinga), the area was not called Norway until Nor Thorrasson (born about 63BC) conquered it while searching for his missing sister, Goi. (S1).

Basanus died in 241 B.C. (S1).
