Osbert GIFFARD (le Boef).
Born in 1188 at Brimpsfield, Gloucestershire, England; son of Elias GIFFARD and Maud FitzHarding de Berkeley.

Name usually styled Osbert Giffard of Brimsfield to distinguish him from his contemporaries, Osbert Giffard of Norfolk, and Osbert Giffard, a natural son of King John.

He held considerable property in Winterbourne Houghton ,Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucester. In 1226, he gave the lands of Brimsfield to the Hospital of St. Bartholomew, Gloucester.

He died about 1237 at Brimpsfield, Gloucestershire, England. (S2).
