George Seaton and Margaret Campbell

HUSBAND:
George SEATON.
Born about 1431 in Scotland; son of John SETON and Christian LINDSAY.

He was one of the conservators of treaties with the English, 30 Sept. 1497, and 12 July, 1499, and witnessed the assignation of the dower of Margaret, Queen of Scotland, 24 May, 1503. (S1).

He married Margaret Campbell (dau of Colin Campbell, 1st Earl of Argyll) (S1).

In 1493 he was the founder of the Collegiate Chiurch of Seton.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1496. (S1).

He died on 11 June 1507 in Scotland. (S1).

Margaret CAMPBELL.
Of Argyll, Scotland; daughter of Colin CAMPBELL and Elizabeth (Isabel) STEWART.

CHILDREN of George SEATON and Margaret CAMPBELL:
  1. George SEATON. Born about 1508 in Scotland. He married Jane HEPBURN. He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden.
  2. Margaret Seton. She married Claude HAMILTON, Lord Paisley.
  3. Marian SETON. She married John GRAHAM, 4th Earl.
