Tudor Trevor and Angharad

HUSBAND:
TUDOR TREVOR. (Tudr Trefor). [Familytree].
Born about 900, of Maelor Gymraeg, Wales; son of Ynyr ap Cadfarch and Rhiengar.

He is said to have been named Trevor because he was born or nursed at Trevor. {S6}.

He is said to have been the founder of Whittington Castle in Shropshire, which continued in his posterity for many generations. He had large possessions in Herefordshire, in right of his mother, as well as in that country called Ferlys, which lies between the rivers Wye and Severn. He had many estates in the marches of Wales, for which he was called of the Tribe of March, to distinguish him from the other tribes.

Powell of Edenhope, in his Pentarchia, describes his arms:
Erminiis fulgens Theodori Parma Trevori,
Dat rapidum fulvumque sinistro verte leonem;
Mostonis sunt nota satis simul arma Trevoris.

Which may be thus expressed,
Parted per bend sinister ermine and ermines, over all a lion rampant or; the well-known arms of the Mostyns, and also of the Trevors.

ANGHARAD. (Ankaret)(Ankaret ferch Hywel Dda). [Familytree].
